Lydall’s Hybrid dBCore® Gradient Density
 is engineered for the automotive customer that desires a premium interior acoustical product to improve the overall sound quality of their vehicle.

This product is unique in the industry offering exceptional transmission loss and absorption performance into one premier product. High performance polyester (PET) fiber is used in conjunction with a homogeneous barrier to offer the optimal solution. The PET fibers benefit the vehicle in two ways:

PET is used to decouple the mass layer from the sheet metal providing exceptional transmission loss through the system.

PET is used again on top of the barrier layer with integrated airflow resistance technology to significantly improve the absorption characteristics.
   
 

dBCore® Hybrid Gradient Density

A lightweight composite that utilizes both a barrier layer along with an absorption layer. This type of composite is ideal for those applications where the customer wants the best of the best.

The lightweight barrier layer is there to keep noise out of the passenger compartment, but once the noise is inside, the absorption layer offers a significant benefit to reduce the interior noise levels further.

Attributes

  • Uses a lower barrier weight than a traditional dash inner due to the added value of the absorption layer
  • Environmentally friendly (clean to use Polyester fibers)
  • Customer friendly (reduces interior noise levels improving comfort)
